Taking the Blame

“Jeff, this X isn’t supposed to be here. Can you move it?”

I responded: “Yup you’re right. I’ll move it, sorry”
What I really wanted to say was:
“I know it’s not supposed to be there, but person Y literally told me they were going to move it…it’s clearly their fault but OKAY I’ll clean up their mess”
But it doesn’t matter sometimes… why take the effort to make someone else look bad?
Just forget it. Finish the job. Take the blame sometimes. Don’t throw people under the bus on purpose…
At least now I know that person Y is not the most competent and doesn’t always follow their word…and in a business world, I’d rather take the blame for a small mess up and then know who I can truly trust in important situations.
